I was so delighted to be asked to capture Elly & Pete’s wedding back in the summer, especially as I’ve known them for quite a few years and knew Elly before she met Pete so have been around as their relationship has flourished over the years!.. It was a beautiful sunny day in Torquay and we headed to Meadfoot beach after the ceremony for some fun shots of the two of them. The sea air really relaxed us all after the ceremony and I was flattered when they mentionned afterwards that the photos on the beach were a highlight on the day. Rather than just aiming to capture great shots, one of my main purposes at this point in the day is to create an enjoyable time for my clients.
The party took place at home where various members of the family have enjoyed wedding celebrations in times gone by – how special is that?
Elly wore the most stunning dress Sassi Holford dress, which provided her with two different looks during the day. A lace number on top for the ceremony and reception, then a black sash for the partying later. By chance, Chloe and I met Sassi and her husband at security at the airport on our way to the Love My Dress Soiree the week after the wedding. It was great to be able to show them a quick snapshot on the plane on the way home of how fabulous Elly looked in one of her creations.
The flowers were quite something else and Blue Geranium excelled themselves. Wait until you see the green balls of foliage suspended from the ceiling of the marquee – incredible!
Chloe and I gasped when we saw the magical light on the staircase (geeky I know!), I was at the top and she was at the bottom. My favourites are Chloe’s photos looking up at Elly’s super-cute flower girls.
Elly and Pete converted the garden shed into a photobooth – hours of entertainment with some exceptional wigs going on!
