Another real highlight of last year has to be Nikki & Marc’s wedding up in the Cotswolds near Tetbury in July. I was recommended to them by Liz & Chris whose wedding you might remember back in 2010 in Budleigh Salterton? As soon as Nikky called we clicked instantly and I knew that it would be a lot of fun to photograph. The pre-wedding shoot was beautiful and showed off Kingscote Barn in the Spring whilst Nikky & Marc got rid of their camera nerves before the wedding itself.
Chloe and I were invited to stay at her parents’ home in Bath before the wedding (which was a new one for us). Initially we pondered over whether it would be a bit weird for Nikky to have us there but after walking through the door and two minutes later sitting chatting with friends and family with a glass of red in our hands we felt instantly at home! What a fun-loving and warm bunch of people!. Needless to say, the wedding was amazing and Kingscote Barn is breathtaking – a winning combination rustic chic.
Nikky and her family and friends had put so much thought into decorating the barn and it was worth every second. The flowers were the creation of the very talented Sarah of Aqua Florist, and the rest for the tables at the barn etc were taken care of by one of Nikky’s friends. Another friend and makeup artist Sophie Bee set to work doing a fantastic job. It really felt that everyone was happy to have a part in the day and even one of Nikky’s closest girlfriends, Becks bravely stood up and made a speech after the meal alongside the two Best Men. Another friend and bridesmaid Hannah drove Nikky and her Dad to the church in a vintage Moris Minor and her brother took to the driver’s seat after the ceremony. The list is endless and you get the picture – what an amazing bunch of friends and family!
It doesn’t surprise me to hear that since the wedding, Kingscote Barn were one of the winners at the Wedding Industry Awards 2012 – really well deserved!
I will let the photos do the talking as I could rave about Nikki and Marc and their wedding day for quite some time…
