Today I’m really happy to share Kathryn & Rob’s wedding at Bovey Castle form earlier in the year. I don’t know about the rest of you where you are, but here in Devon it is stormy and grey with relentless rain so I’m loving all the vivid colours to brighten up the afternoon.
Kathryn & Rob’s wedding day began in the South Hams for Rob, where he enjoyed a family cooked breakfast. Chloe headed over to meet them to capture the build up, whilst I met the girls at Kathryn’s parents’ home just over the border of Cornwall. I love Chloe’s breakfast shots, and I can almost taste the sausages just by looking at the photos!
The ceremony took place in the nearby beautiful little church in the village of St Dominick. Weddings aren’t held there very often at all, so it felt like lots of effort had been made to open it up for their wedding day. Following the ceremony we all drove across Dartmoor (stopping for a few photos of course!) on our way to Bovey Castle. As many of you know I grew up in this part of Devon myself and Dartmoor is such a special place to me too – the views are electric and skies often moody even in summer. Well done to Kathryn for braving the Dartmoor weather for the sake of art! I’m sure you’ll all agree, she looked totally stunning in her Pronovias dress with the wind catching her long veil.
On arrival at Bovey Castle, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the Cathedral Room before the wedding breakfast in their stunning art deco style restaurant. A big thanks to Kathryn & Rob and their friends and families for such warmth and an amazing day. I’d like to thank Bovey Castle for being as accommodating as ever and ferrying us to the best photo spots by golf buggy – it all makes such a difference.
I hope you enjoy this small selection of photos from the day..
